Political Social

Election information lives across different government websites, maps, candidate lists, and ballot documents. The challenge is helping someone find the information relevant to them and understand how the pieces fit together.

I built Political Social to bring those tasks into one mobile experience.

I own the product direction, interface design, mobile development, backend integrations, testing, and release process. The work connects a consumer app to multiple civic data sources, with account management and private ballot records.

My focus is the whole journey: finding representatives, exploring an election, and reviewing ballot information.

Use maps to make geography understandable

District and state views give people a spatial way to explore government and elections. The interface connects places to representatives and races.

Give users a way to correct scanned information

Ballot scanning is useful only when people can review the result. Manual editing provides a path forward when text recognition misses or misreads a contest.

Make data limitations visible

Coverage varies between sources and jurisdictions. The app needs to distinguish available information from incomplete results, rather than imply every ballot is complete.

The product combines an iOS client with Supabase/PostgreSQL, authentication, server functions, and external civic APIs. Data normalization and error handling help bridge differences between providers.

I use separate staging and production environments to develop and verify changes before release.

Political Social is available on the App Store with representative lookup, election maps, and ballot tools. I continue to iterate on coverage and usability.
